Job Summary

The Michigan Radiation Oncology Quality Consortium (MROQC) is a clinical data registry founded under the partnership of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan/Blue Care Network and the University of Michigan in 2011. Since that time, MROQC has grown to a collaborative of 26 sites across the state of Michigan dedicated to improving the radiation treatment experience for patients. The MROQC Coordinating Center is part of the University of Michigan, funded by the BCBSM Value Partnerships initiative, and housed at the U of M Ann Arbor, North Campus Research Complex (NCRC).

The MROQC Coordinating Center is currently looking for a highly skilled individual who will serve as a Database Coordinator for the program.

Responsibilities*

  • Serve as the central point of contact for all data abstraction related inquiries and oversee the collaborative’s collection of information from participating sites for the purpose of improving the processes and outcomes of care
  • Lead database training for data abstractors
  • Create and maintain database support materials (training, data dictionaries, etc.)
  • Conduct quality assurance testing on the MROQC database to ensure data integrity and conduct follow-up with individual participants, as needed, to resolve any data issues
  • Assist in the review, maintenance and development of MROQC reports
  • Participate in audit process (i.e. identifying critical data points)
  • Contribute to the coordination of collaborative-wide meetings
  • Support the implementation of quality improvement activities within the participating sites
  • Serve as support for various quality improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • Clinical experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as demonstrated in oral, written and presentation formats
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects

Desired Qualifications*

Experience with:

  • Data abstraction for clinical research or quality improvement
  • Database software applications
  • Statistical analysis software such as SAS, Stata, or R

Background knowledge of:

  • Radiation oncology
  • Physics or nuclear engineering
