To research, develop, fabricate and characterise proof-of-concept systems and sensor technologies for novel applications in the agriscience and biotechnology sectors. The job holder will be required to work in partnership with other team members to deliver smart sensor systems incorporating analogue and digital electronics as well as embedded systems and firmware designs. The main aim of the position is developing and demonstrating enhanced multispectral imaging modalities for use in crop diagnostics. This system has early-phase exemplification within the Centre, which will position the successful applicant to take the technologies forward towards industrially-relevant products for the international food sector. This project will be in partnership with academics from other disciplines at the University and industrial scientists in the partnering agronomy companies.
