The School of Psychological, Social and Behavioural Sciences seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Careers Guidance for a fixed-term until 01-12-2020 to help deliver provision in this area. We will consider applicants seeking to job-share at 0.5FTE. The post holder(s) will contribute to the provision of high quality placements, assessments teaching and research within the School. You will join a highly regarded, research active and student-centred team of colleagues in delivering courses in Careers Guidance. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from applicants with experience in fining and supporting students on placements and conducting practice assessments. Given the practitioner focus of Careers Guidance,applicants will ideally be well networked within the field.
Your main role will be is finding and supporting Career Guidance students on placement and liaising with placement providers. We do have a comprehensive database in place which we would like to develop. You teaching approach will be flexible, student-centred and research informed. As the role will also require you to develop and maintain productive relationships with placement providers, employers and other stakeholders, you will need a high level of inter-personal skills, and personal effectiveness to promote a high quality experience for all our stakeholders. You will have a strong commitment to continuing professional development and to inter-professional and international perspectives.

Applied research activity is an integral part of the Faculty's business and there is a strong commitment to enabling staff to engage in a wide range of research and scholarship. You will be given opportunities to develop your research interests and be expected to contribute to Faculty's research profile.
Applicants must have a relevant professional qualification in Career Guidance. A Masters or PhD in an appropriate subject and experience of delivering in an educational setting is desirable. Coventry University offers academic support and professional development support and provides the opportunity for staff without a recognised teaching qualification to undertake the PGCE.
