Charles Darwin University plays a critical role in the Northern Territory and for the nation. Although one of the smallest universities in Australia we are one of the most research-intensive, with outstanding performance and recognised excellence in a small but highly relevant suite of research fields related to where we operate.

A unique opportunity exists for a dynamic and energetic research leader to join CDU as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation). With current research strengths in Indigenous and tropical health, environmental science and public policy, CDU is well-positioned to develop additional world-class fields of research and scholarship to meet the emerging requirements of Northern and Central Australia and the Territory’s Asian neighbours. The DVC (Research and Innovation) will play a key role in the development and growth of research, commercialisation, and innovation across the University and the region.

The role is a key member of the University Executive team. With responsibility for the University’s research strategy, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) will lead the advancement of local, national, and international research collaborations and partnerships across government, industry and local communities, and will foster a culture of research excellence, collaboration and engagement.
