Position overview

The ANU Law School within the ANU College of Law seeks to appoint academics who are ready to strive in one of the world’s best law schools. 

Successful candidates will ensure our students and scholars are not just equipped to respond to the challenges of today, but are ready to capture the opportunities of tomorrow. You will also commit to legal education and research at the highest level, and strive towards continuous improvement in the law for the benefit of national and international communities.

Successful appointees will share the commitment the College places on supporting staff to reach their full potential in an environment of collegiality and respect for diversity.

We welcome applications from candidates from all areas of law, but have a particular interest appointing in the following areas:

  •  Space Law
  •  Digital and Cyber Law
  •  Contract Law
  •  International Business Law (broadly defined to include both public and private law)
  •  Commercial Law
  •  Equity
  •  Torts

A joint appointment may also be considered between the ANU Law School and the nation's first interdisciplinary Cyber Institute.

In addition, there is a fixed term 7 year appointment (tenure track) in Law and Economics, funded by the Research School of Economics and hosted in the ANU College of Law. The successful candidate will pursue a distinctive and high quality research agenda in Law and Economics and will teach in the Research School of Economics. Teaching will not be undertaken until the second year of appointment. There is a preference that their sub field of interest should be in one or more of the following areas: business law, property law or environmental law, broadly conceived and in a national or international context.
