ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT IIOffice of Digital Learning (ODL), to provide administrative support to the dean for digital learning, a senior associate dean for open learning, and the MITx and OpenCourseWare (OCW) team.  Will coordinate complex calendar management for the dean and senior associate dean and the units they will support, including the exercise of judgment while interacting with colleagues across MIT; manage complex domestic and international travel arrangements and process travel reports after the completion of the trips; serve as part of the Open Learning admin team; provide front desk coverage and back up for other administrative assistants in their absence; handle special projects as assigned by the deans and the teams; and be responsible for the smooth and productive operation of the units on a day-today-basis.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  at least three years’ related administrative/office experience; self-motivation and ability to assume responsibility; flexibility; diplomacy; ability to both anticipate needs and deal with matters as they present themselves, multitask, and set and achieve priorities; excellent organizational skills; attention to detail; experience managing complex scheduling via an electronic calendar system; ability to either exercise judgement or seek guidance as appropriate; and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be able to work independently, collaboratively and effectively with coworkers and supervisors as part of a team, and with contacts outside of the immediate work area (faculty, students, visitors, clients, sponsors, etc.).  An associate’s degree is preferred.
