Duke University Health System- Duke Regional Hospital Perioperative Services seeks to hire a Registered Nurse Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Coordinator who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together.
M - F Start time varies 7a-3p, 9a-5p, Flexible. No Weekends, no Holidays.
The Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Coordinator is responsible to oversee, with minimal supervision, the ERAS program for Perioperative and Anesthesia Services at Duke Regional Hospital.
- Clinical care coordination for ERAS patients through all stages of the perioperative continuum of care.
- Collaboration with anesthesia and surgeons to develop and maintain clinical pathways.
- ERAS education for patients, families, care teams, and community resources.
- Identify and resolve clinical issues affecting patient care, clinical efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Outcome and pathway compliance evaluation.
- Develop improvement strategies through collaboration, project management, and performance improvement activities.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
- Previous work experience (3+ years) as a clinical nurse is required. Experience in PACU, Pre-op or Post-Surgical preferred. Responsibility for performance/process improvement and experience leading work teams. Exposure to research projects a plus.
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required.
All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date
Licensure, Certification or Registration Required:
- Current registration with North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse OR current compact RN licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina required.
- BLS (or higher) certification required.
- Professional specialty certification (preferred).
