Summary:

The Cloud Provisioning Specialist/Administrator will report to the Hosting Services Manager. The Hosting Services team is responsible for supporting 3 data centers, 13 ECHs and providing Cloud Account Management services for University IT and its clients. The ideal candidate has a broad interest in IT as a whole, is a self-starter, and team player. The primary role of this position will be to oversee the end to end process of new Cloud Account service requests.

Job Purpose:

Specify requirements for business information systems and incorporate new technical systems to improve work-flow, production, efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with university clients with the ordering, provisioning and billing of cloud accounts in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Responding to support requests related to the Cloud Account Management service, opening support cases with cloud vendors when needed and managing escalations with vendors.
  • Problem solve in areas such as system design, input/output requirements and procedural flow between departments and/or business systems.
  • Assist the development team to develop technical specifications.
  • Perform production support activities, including triaging issues, evaluating patches and fixes, assessing impact, and implementing solution.
  • Develop functional specifications to ensure compliance with system development lifecycle methods.

Desired Skills:

  • Understanding of AWS and GCP services, IAM roles, policies and permissions.
  • Strong working knowledge of Amazon and Google console, ServiceNow ITSM and ITAM and Oracle eAM.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with minimum direction.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish effective, ongoing relationships with clients, staff and management.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work under pressure in high stress situations.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience with both process and data modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience with fit/gap analysis.
  • Understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Strong understanding of the components of web applications.
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with minimum direction.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish effective, ongoing relationships with clients, staff and management.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work under pressure in high stress situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to program or script.

Certifications and Licenses:

AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and GCP Associate Cloud Engineer certifications preferred not Required
