The School is seeking to appoint an outstanding individual with a background in Pharmacology or related discipline, who has the potential to develop an independent research programme. This programme can be in any area, to complement the School’s internationally-renowned research themes in: Cardiovascular and Cell Signalling and Neuroscience (see: http://www.bristol.ac.uk/phys-pharm/). The successful applicant will contribute to teaching on the School’s degree courses, including our exceptionally successful Pharmacology degree programme (with a student satisfaction score of 100% in the last three National Student Surveys, see: http://www.bristol.ac.uk/news/2017/august/nss.html).

The position will be based in the Biomedical Sciences Building with access to imaging, proteomics and genomics core facilities; access to large and small animal in vivo laboratories; and human studies facilities. There are current PhD training programmes funded by the BBSRC, MRC, Wellcome Trust and BHF, with many linked to other Schools in the University and beyond. Successful applicants can also join larger research communities within the University and associated NHS Trusts, such as the Bristol Heart Institute or Bristol Neuroscience.
