Job description

The School of Language and Global Studies at the University of Central Lancashire wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Japanese Studies to contribute to the academic development, course management, teaching, research development and scholarship within the School in the area of Japanese Studies.

The successful applicant will have a good honours degree (or equivalent) and a PhD (or near completion) in a related field and a REF-able publication profile.

Experience of teaching Japanese Language at a range of levels in an academic environment is essential along with experience of setting language assessments. The successful applicant will be fluent in Japanese and understanding of cultural norms.

The post-holder will have an excellent record of working as part of an academic team, excellent presentation and communication skills, as well as being IT literate and demonstrating a willingness to develop innovative teaching methods.
