The School of Dentistry offers both undergraduate and postgraduate provision, offering a range of clinical and academic programmes across the dental team. We are seeking to appoint an Assessment Co-ordinator, who will also be responsible for the strategic co-ordination of the School's timetable.
This role involves responsibility for the co-ordination of all assessment processes, both academic and clinical, across the School, in order to maintain academic standards, meet professional body requirements and to enhance the quality of the student experience. In addition, you will take overall responsibility for the strategic co-ordination of the School's complex integrated timetable.
Assessment: You will lead the scheduling and implementation of all planning activities regarding the setting and quality management of assessments and ensure timely and effective scheduling across the School. You will play an active part in assessment processes by ensuring all aspects of examinations and assessment meet required quality standards, taking responsibility for oversight of the IT platform used to deliver on-line examinations. In addition, you will manage student data, prepare assessment spreadsheets, support module leads and organise external examiners / invigilators as required. You will also provide reports to the Professorial Lead for Assessment, in order to facilitate analysis of student performance against expected standards.
Timetabling: You will support the Principal Lecturers in strategic timetabling, in order to optimise the use of resources and minimise the need for troubleshooting and will line manage the Student Experience Officer, ensuring that operational issues are handled in a timely manner and that key deadlines are met to facilitate the work of CTU
We require you to have significant experience of working in a management / senior administrative capacity with responsibility for the management / oversight of complex systems and processes. Experience of working in an education environment is essential, as is experience of quality assurance processes and management / administration of assessment processes. A good honours degree or significant relevant professional experience, plus GCSE Mathematics and English Language (or equivalent).
You will demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and be IT literate in Microsoft Office packages. It is important that you are able to deal with complex detail, prioritise your workload, deal with confidential and sensitive information and work under pressure to achieve strict deadlines.
