The Department of Computing is looking for an outstanding individual who can make a strong academic contribution in Intelligent Systems, Machine Learning and Robotics. You will be joining the Game and Intelligent Systems (GIS) group who is responsible for the delivery of three excellent industry accredited technical game development undergraduate and postgraduate courses with 100% NSS results and delivers a range of Artificial Intelligence modules to other students in the department.

The group also maintains a record of successful research and works in collaboration with the Centre for Automation and Robotics Research and at Sheffield Robotics, a joint initiative between Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) and the University of Sheffield (UOS).

You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality learning environment for students and contributing to the development of new and exciting courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will be expected to be involved in module leadership and delivery, contribute specialist topics to other modules, dissertation supervision, developing the curriculum, industrial liaison as well as the possibility of research.

You will join an existing research group in the department and work with colleagues to build both research capacity and deliver impact.

As well as the ability to inspire and motivate students, you'll need well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant to Intelligent Systems, Machine Learning and Robotics. A PhD in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience is essential. Applicants with industrial experience within the games industry will be considered.
