Fixed term 24 months, 35 hours per week

The Scottish Centre for Enabling Technologies (SCET) was created in 2008.  SCET provides a range of R&D and knowledge exchange activities and has operated successfully within the University since 2008, assisting over 450 organisations in various sectors and covering a range of technologies: mobile development, web and cloud development, games development, animation and graphics design, eHealth applications, user experience/usability, databases, business intelligence and data analytics.  During this time, SCET has helped companies to create over 600 jobs and safeguard a further 1,000 jobs and has increased company by over £100million.

The University is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to play a key role in the development of the centre, particularly in technical competency and sustainability.  The Lead Software Engineer will also play a key role in the development and deployment of innovative solutions for companies, public agencies and sectors that the centre engages with.   In-depth knowledge and experience of mobile, web and cloud development and real-time development are essential and a proven track record is required in software design and development, project management, quality assurance and deployment of highly scalable systems.  The role will also involve some element of business development and experience of productisation and technology start-ups would be desirable.

This is initially a 2 year fixed term post, which will be based at the University’s Paisley Campus.
