About the Job

The School of Information Technology & Mathematical Sciences is the largest information and communications technology provider in South Australia, and is regarded as one of the leading applied mathematics departments in Australia.

As the Research Fellow: Data Mining, you will contribute to the research efforts of the Advanced Computing Research Centre and the School of ITMS. You will manage research project linked to the Data to Decisions Cooperative Research Centre (D2D CRC) to achieve project milestones, and contribute to new ideas and approaches to support the development of new innovative technologies. Given the level, you will also assist with the supervision of honours and/or post-graduate research students on projects in areas of relevance to the D2D CRC and within your area(s) of expertise.

Skills and Experience

To be eligible for this position, you will have PhD degree in a relevant discipline along with knowledge of data mining / machine learning techniques, C/C++ or Java and SAS or R Programming. A record of peer reviewed publications commensurate with opportunity along with experience in preparation of research grant applications will be an advantage to your candidature.

To be successful in this position you will have expert project management and communication skills along with proven ability to work collaboratively in a research team with staff, students and external providers from diverse backgrounds.
