Job Description

Occ Summary

Plan, coordinate and participate in the establishment and operation of a specialized program and/or activity at Duke University, planning methods and developing systems in accordance with predetermined goals and objectives.

Work Performed

Profs. Collier and Segura of the Biomedical Engineering Department at Duke University are looking to fill an Administrative Assistant position to improve their effectiveness. An organized, self-driven multitasker, that enjoys working in an academic environment would be an ideal candidate for this position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to submitting travel and miscellaneous purchase reimbursements, travel arrangement, calendar management, editing of text for standard English, and the preparation of reports for grant agencies.

Strongly prefer candidates with a B.S or B.A in any field or previous experience as an administrative assistant. Knowledge of Mac OS and Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) are strongly recommended. Because editing and writing are a component of the job, experience in writing is highly recommended.

Education

Experience
