The University of Manchester Library is one of only five National Research Libraries and the third largest academic library in the UK. Effective internal communications is concerned with the communication of strategic vision and objectives, as well as news and operational information, and is focused on the role of leaders, managers, processes and structures in facilitating communication. Effective internal communications and staff engagement is especially important in Higher Education because of the centrality and importance of people to the core mission and operation of HEIs.

The Internal Communications and Engagement Officer role is pivotal in ensuring that key messages get to the right people at the right time. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, Communications and Customer Services you will be part of the Marketing and Communications team. You will be responsible for evolving and maintaining a strategic approach to internal communications and staff engagement with the aim of improving, enhancing and ensuring the ongoing maintenance of internal communications within the Library.

Hours & Place of Work

Normal working hours are 35 hours per week

This post is based in the Main Library, Oxford Road however all Library employees are required to work at any Library site, as necessary.

All Library staff are required to wear a name badge.
