The Centre for Work Based Learning (CWBL) in Cardiff Metropolitan University is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Work Based Learning team as Project Officer for the South East Wales collaborative HEFCW funded project; Partnership for Progression and Prosperity: Creative, Technological and Digital Futures - Building Together.
The Project Officer will be responsible for the delivery and management of the project outcomes working closely with the HE/FE members of the consortium to build on existing regional working models and experience, leveraging added value with all the HEIs and FEIs in the Cardiff Capital Region. The role will focus on the development of a more joined up resource, engagement with industry, access to facilities and expertise alongside identification of pathways for learners in the region and gaps in educational provision.
Partners will target three strands of regional strength with potential for jobs growth where HE/FE collaboration can support a joined up focus on skills and innovation for the future. Cardiff Met will lead on the Design strand, and also focus on the Digital and Digital Futures cross cutting theme. The project will be used to build regional capacity and further deepen a culture of joint working, and aims to develop a more joined up regional resource, share expertise and engage strategically with industry to drive more joined up HE/FE working.
It will also seek to share good practice and build on existing HE/FE expertise in the region supporting and encouraging all universities and colleagues to enhance their regional engagement and joint delivery capacity. It is expected to drive more opportunity across the region with the aim of increasing access to opportunities for all.
The Project Officer role is to co-ordinate the effective operational development and delivery of this project and the associated activities that support delivery of the project outcomes, as directed by the CWBL Manager, working primarily with FE partners, employers and sector representative bodies in the Cardiff Capital Region.
Candidates will need to be educated to degree level, or have an equivalent amount of practical experience. Previous project management experience is essential, and experience within the education sector would be advantageous. The role will require strong organisational skills, an ability to work across a diverse range of stakeholders with a highly proactive approach.
You will be experienced in designing educational programmes of activity for people; ideally focussed around raising aspirations to Higher Education. You will be required to work closely with partners and colleagues to ensure targeted provision is relevant and successfully delivered, monitored and evaluated.
