The Creative Media Unit (CMU) is responsible for the creation of key communications, marketing materials and Public Relations for the UNSW Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy

About the role

  • $65,506-$80,850k plus (17% superannuation and annual leave loading)

The Creative Designer, within the design team, will be key assisting the team provide Web Services, Multimedia Services, Design, Print & Copy Services, and communication services to the university.

About the successful applicant

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Ability to design and create digital content for marketing, research, teaching and learning. To deliver quality products/solutions to appropriate technical standards required by the customer (UNSW and ADFA). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple briefs at any one time
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of current/best practice methods & tech to provide satisfactory solutions, including but not limited to, advanced skills with Indesign, illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Acrobat, MS Office. Strong interpersonal skills with a task-oriented focus, meeting strict deadlines, while also being able to work autonomously when required. Key print skills include, but are not limited to, specifications on formats, paper stock, colour and treatment of photos/images. The successful candidate will also have knowledge and understanding of equity and diversity principles and adhere to strict OH&S principles. Candidates in in all levels will have strong communication skills including (written/verbal/presentation), have high initiative, and self-motivation
  • For Level 5 (in addition to Level 4) – Degree Qualified, in a related field. Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • For Level 4  - Advance Diploma and 2 years relevant work experience
