Starting Salary: £14,645.20 per annum (based on the full time rate of £36,613 per annum)
Hours: 14.4 hours per week (0.4 FTE)
Term: 12 month fixed-term     

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time 0.4 FTE 12 month fixed term Lecturer in Science. The successful candidate will join a specialist team providing high quality teaching and dedicated support to Foundation Year students on the Extended Degree Programme.  

The role will involve working directly with students and with subject programme staff to deliver the Science curriculum at Level 3, focusing on Chemistry and Physics. This will integrate with the curriculum provided within the Foundation Year relating to academic development and personal development. The post holder will be expected to work closely with programme staff in the Centre for Teaching Excellence and Student Success and with staff in professional and academic services to ensure an excellent experience for students. The post holder will also carry out the duties and responsibilities of a Foundation Year Lecturer at St Mary’s, liaising with key staff in professional and academic services to ensure the effective delivery of the programme and its associated pathway.   

The successful candidate will have, or be working towards, a PhD; or hold a post-graduate qualification in either Learning and Teaching or in a relevant science. The appointee will also have the opportunity to gain a post-graduate level teaching qualification.
