A postdoctoral Research Associate position is available for a Chemist, or Biochemist to investigate the use of biocatalysts for the development of redox neutral hydrogen borrowing synthetic methodologies with particular application towards the synthesis of natural products and bio-active molecules, funding for this project is provided by an ERC Advanced Grant.

You should have a PhD or equivalent in Biochemistry, or Chemistry; with a proven track record in areas such as synthetic chemistry and reaction optimisation, enzyme discovery and characterisation, and biocatalyst optimisation via directed evolution/protein engineering. You should be capable of working under your own initiative but also collaborating with research partners both in Manchester and at partner institutions so excellent communication and organisational skills are also required.
