Sir Kirby Laing Professorship of Civil Engineering
The University of Cambridge is pleased to invite applications for the post of the Sir Kirby Laing Professorship of Civil Engineering. In addition, the appointee will provide academic leadership for the Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB).
Suitable candidates will possess significant academic standing and accomplishment in civil engineering and related disciplines, as well as a deep interest in, and passion for, the digitisation agenda and its relation to the work of the CDBB.
The Department of Engineering is the largest department at the University of Cambridge and one of the leading centres of engineering in the world. It comprises some of the best academics, staff and students from around the world to deliver practical outcomes for society on pivotal issues such as energy, cities, transport, healthcare and manufacturing.
The Centre for Digital Built Britain is a partnership between the Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and the University of Cambridge to deliver a smart digital economy for infrastructure and construction for the future and transform the UK construction industry’s approach to the way we plan, build, maintain and use our social and economic infrastructure.
Standard professorial duties include teaching and research, examining, supervision and administration. The Professorship will be based in Cambridge. A competitive salary will be offered.
