Postdoctoral Research Associate - Life & Health Sciences
An exciting opportunity is available for a post-doctoral behavioural neuroscientist to join the School of Life & Health Sciences. The role will allow you to further develop behavioural skills in the field of pain as well as a range of other techniques including cutting-edge in-vivo gene manipulating technologies, molecular approaches and histology. Depending on the outcome of initial research, an extension of funding may become available.
In this role, you will mainly investigate the role of ion channel dysregulation in rheumatoid arthritis pain based on our preliminary research findings. Appropriate expert training will be provided where required.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual committed to high quality research with proven skills in pain behaviors and/or antigen-induced arthritis mouse model. You would also benefit from having experience in joint histology and evidence of creative and critical thinking. You should have a PhD or be near completion in a relevant biological discipline. A current UK Home Office Personal License (PIL) will be desirable.
