Job description

The School of Sport and Wellbeing is seeking to recruit professional tutor to contribute to teaching across a number of programmes. The School and in particular Sport, Exercise & Nutritional Sciences is home to a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes both taught on-campus and by distance learning. In addition to this, we are proud of our commitment to delivering a strong research-, industry-, and practitioner-inspired teaching philosophy.

The successful applicant will possess flexible and innovative approaches to teaching and learning and will play roles in the delivery of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as a part of successful Sport and Wellbeing programmes. Specifically we are recruiting professional tutors who can contribute to teaching on a number distance learning modules associated within International Food Law and Food Safety Management. The role will also involve contributing to the traditional on campus delivery of statistical and practical research modules delivered as part of Sport, Exercise and Nutritional Sciences programmes.

To support the delivery of modules on campus applicants should have extensive research methods and laboratory skills in addition to theoretical knowledge in the sport, exercise and nutritional sciences area. To support the delivery of distance learning modules associated with Food Safety Management applicants should have experience of delivery by distance learning. Relevant work experience in a higher education environment is essential, as is a good honours degree in a relevant discipline and a post graduate qualification or the equivalent in experience.

The successful applicant will have excellent presentation and communication skills as they are a core requirement for the post. They will also be able to use IT software such as Microsoft packages and e-learning platforms such as Blackboard.
