With over 20,000 students, Swansea University needs a professional services workforce that delivers excellence through efficient and effective systems and processes that harness innovation in technology. In this context, the University is looking to appoint a new Chief Digital Officer.
The Chief Digital Officer will play a pivotal role in Swansea’s digital transformation and the successful delivery of the University’s digital strategy. As an influential member of the University’s Professional Services Management Team (PSMT), you will provide expert advice and guidance on all digital matters, as well as extensive input into strategic decisions in investment and the University’s estate. The Chief Digital Officer will work closely with the Registrar & Chief Operating Officer, members of the PSMT, and key external stakeholders to drive and champion the digital agenda in support of the University’s strategic ambitions.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of delivering modern, high quality and flexible information services and a track record of modernisation and service improvement. Candidates will be both visionary and pragmatic in their approach and will demonstrate strong interpersonal and inspirational leadership qualities, with a collegiate, customer focussed manner. Senior leadership experience in a digitally focussed role will be required, and applications from both within and outside the higher education sector are welcome.
