Richmond, The American International University in London is an independent, private not for profit university with dual American and British accreditation and US public charity status, delivering an education in the American liberal arts tradition. Reporting to the President and Vice-Chancellor, the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer is responsible for participating at Executive level in the strategic and operational management of the University with specific areas of accountability for Estates and all aspects of Facilities Management, Human Resources, Compliance and Risk, Board of Trustees oversight, GDPR and other support activities These responsibilities include accountability for compliance with parallel US data regulations. The role is accountable for day to day service provision and also horizon scanning best practice to ensure that future continuous improvement is adopted to meet operational needs and compliance requirements.

A strategic, commercially minded, results-oriented Chief Operating Officer is required to fill this key role at the University. You will already have an established record of achievement in a similar role, preferably in higher education. Candidates must be able to develop effective networks and good working relationships with a wide range of people at all levels throughout the University and with our key stakeholders and suppliers. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to be a part of the University’s Executive Team to make a significant contribution to the leadership and delivery of the University’s key performance measures.
