The Student Recruitment and Widening Participation team is responsible for ensuring that the University can identify and recruit students of outstanding achievement and potential from all educational backgrounds and encouraging progression into higher education more generally, particularly within its local communities. This work entails raising awareness of the benefits of The University of Manchester and higher education among school pupils, further education students, colleges and other educational bodies.

A key focus of this post is to support with the increasing expectations for the monitoring and evaluation of the University's widening participation outreach work, including analysing qualitative and quantitative information. This is important for external statutory reporting obligations to the Office for Students (OfS) as well as internally, in assessing the effectiveness of different interventions and activities.

You will have excellent analytical skills, with the ability to explore, summarise and present data to help understand the impact of our student recruitment and widening participation work. You will be a central source of expertise for staff across the University undertaking monitoring and evaluation of widening participation activity, advising on suitable measures of impact and providing support and training. You will have a flexible and positive approach to work with the ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise a varied workload.
