Aston University has a campus in the centre of the city of Birmingham with over 14,000 students. With leading Schools and academic research in Business, Engineering & Applied Sciences, Life & Health Sciences, Languages & Social Science and a new Medical School, Aston is an applied and practical university focussed on graduate employment and social mobility.

Aston has an international reputation notably with the only Regus Professorship in Pharmacy in the UK, a triple accredited MBA programme in the Business School and pioneering research in Aston Brain Centre. Coupled with strong business partnerships and the first university in the UK to graduate degree apprentice students.

The Development & Alumni Relations Office (DARO) is seeking a Stewardship Manager to support our work in thanking, stewarding and enhancing our donor relationships with alumni, individuals and organisations for the University.  The Stewardship Manager will work closely with the fundraisers in the team to plan and manage donor relationships and create exciting opportunities to recognise donors across all giving income streams.

The Stewardship Manager will also manage an effective process for ensuring donations are implemented and reported on effectively and that donors have a giving experience that exceeds their expectations.

The Stewardship Manager will work closely with some of our leading major donors as well as the University’s Executive team and so communication, flexibility and building relationships will be very important. You will also manage the Donor Communications Officer and so motivating and leading a team will be important skills to have also.

You will be creative, inquisitive, methodical and self-motivated, with a sharp attention to detail. You will have a good understanding of managing key relationships and partnerships and be able to demonstrate how this understanding translates to Aston alumni and the university’s supporters.

This is an exciting time to join us – Aston University has recently launched a new strategy and has made significant investment in the DARO office where we have increased our philanthropic giving and impact across the institute. More alumni than ever before are involved and we have exciting strategic projects that need to be delivered in the coming years. The Stewardship Manager is a great opportunity to implement a stewardship plan and make an immediate impact in a successful team
