Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Early Childhood Education
Applications are invited for appointment as tenure-track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Division of Learning, Development and Diversity of the Faculty of Education, to commence as soon as possible (but not later than August 2019), on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.
Applicants for “Professor” should possess strong academic credentials, outstanding academic leadership capabilities, extensive experience in conducting externally funded and rigorous field-based research, and a distinguished record of scholarship. Outstanding candidates with demonstrated excellence may be considered for appointment on tenure terms.
All applicants should have (i) a Ph.D. degree in early childhood education or a closely related field; (ii) tertiary teaching experience; (iii) practical knowledge of/experience with young children and/or their families; and (iv) proven track record in research, publications and competitive external funding. They should have expertise in at least one of the following areas of early childhood education: child development, curriculum and instruction, assessment, pedagogical practices, special education, language and literacy development, and/or mathematics learning. Rich teaching experience in early childhood settings; solid knowledge of early childhood programmes, curriculum and models; relevant experience with online learning formats at the university level; commitment to pre-service teacher preparation; and knowledge of Chinese educational contexts are preferred.
The appointee will be expected to teach early childhood development and education/pedagogy courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; supervise doctoral students; provide service to various early childhood education programmes; and lead and participate in collaborative and interdisciplinary efforts with colleagues across the University.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment will attract acontract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as annual leave and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
