Applications are invited for the above post to work as a research fellow on the Arm Research Centre of Excellence. This unique Research Fellowship will run for two years and two months allowing for an ambitious research programme in direct collaboration with Arm Ltd. You will also join the Advanced Processor Technologies (APT) group within the School of Computer Science. The group has made notable contributions to the development low-power processors, interconnect technologies, chip multi-processor architectures, virtualization and binary translation, and massively parallel neural network architectures.
You will be expected to work with a team undertaking novel software/hardware co-design of future IoT systems. The APT group is active on multiple research projects where a vertically integrated approach is taken with opportunities for novel research across the computing stack and looking at IoT in end-to-end view; from IoT sensors to the Cloud system processing the generated data.
You will be expected to be qualified to PhD level on parallel/distributed systems and have a significant industrial research experience within the Arm IoT ecosystems, as well as capacity to be a direct link to Arm Research and Arm IoT business. Also required are: experience of understanding complex parallel software; a willingness to work flexibly in a multidisciplinary team in which roles may evolve, tasks may be changed and collaboration with Arm remote teams may require travel; the ability to give technical presentations and prepare reports/papers for publication.
Experience in writing academic papers and developing research agendas, and knowledge of, and experience with, IoT ARM-based architectures and IoT ARM software development and IoT debugging tools would be advantageous.
You will join a team headed by Prof. Mikel Lujan. The APT group is a vibrant community of interdisciplinary researchers working on future many-core architectures and software collaborating with industry partners. More information can be found at:
