The Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies (AIPT) http://www.aston.ac.uk/eas/research/groups/photonics/  is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the delivery of a project entitled Enabling Technologies and Innovation Competencies Challenge (ETICC) funded by the European Structural Investment Fund (ESIF) and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

You will join an established group working on solving industrial challenges faced by SMEs. The group works on a one-to-one basis with companies providing advice on site and through the analyses of company data.

You will assist the Project Manager with project management and administration including setting up compliant administration processes; administering the ETICC Calls process; assisting with SMEs engagement and building industrial networks; gathering evidence for claim forms; gathering output evidence and preparing documents for audit purposes; organising meetings; assisting Research Associates and academics with technical issues.

You will have a degree in either Electronic Engineering or Physics or equivalent industrial experience/qualifications; proven management and administration experience; experience of working with SME’s; experience of using and/or maintaining electrical and optical equipment, devices, components and systems; general mechanical workshop skills & experience of design and build of laboratory sub-systems; experience or knowledge of purchasing and procurement processes; experience of inventory and stock control;  awareness of laser safety issues and legislation.
