Job Description

Occupational Summary

This position is responsible for independently maintaining mouse colonies and assisting PhD scientists in conducting their phenotypic characterization. Other duties will include, but are not limited, to mouse genotyping, DNA cloning, western blotting,immunohistochemistry and tissue processing for electron microscopy. Ability to work with mice is required.The complexity of this research program requires technical skills sufficient for independently performing trouble-shooting and significant portions of experimental design and data analysis. The candidate should have at least two years of relevant experience or a combination of experience with education. The position is ideal for an individual planning to enroll in graduate or medical school in the future.

Review scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to obtain information regarding previous experiments to aid in the design and development of optimal procedures and techniques.
