The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative at Duke is designed to enable the entire Duke community – students, staff, faculty, alumni, and parents – to translate ideas into actions in a way that impact the lives of real people. The Administrative Intern will assist the Student & Alumni Affairs Team in the planning and execution of immersive learning programs focusing on entrepreneurship, such as the Program for Entrepreneurs, Melissa & Doug Entrepreneurs Program and Duke Startup Challenge, to build skills in effective event and program management and learn more about the entrepreneurial process. Ideal candidate will be a recent college graduate, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, creativity, and a close attention to detail. Familiarity and/or aninterest in innovation and entrepreneurship is desirable. Must be willing to work night and weekend hours as needed and may be required to travel.
- Assist the Student & Alumni Affairs team in the planning and execution of program events, such as I&E Community Night, Melissa & Doug Demo Day, HackDuke, and Duke Startup Challenge Grand Finale (55%)
- Assist the Student & Alumni Affairs team in the preparation and creation programmatic materials (20%)
- Assist the Student & Alumni Affairs team in the coordination of program promotions in partnership with the I&E Communications team (20%)
- Assist the Student & Alumni Affairs team with other related duties as assigned (5%)
