Vice President For Equality and Diversity
Maynooth University seeks to appoint a senior leader as Vice-President for Equality and Diversity to advance, in an integrated manner, equality, diversity, inclusion and inter-culturalism across the entire University community, students and staff.
This new role will lead and implement the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategic goal of the University, namely, to build on our achievements to date and become a model University for equality, diversity, inclusion and inter-culturalism, where social justice, addressing inequality and empowering people are central to our mission.
The successful candidate will lead strategic change in the areas of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, for staff and students, to create a truly inclusive University where scholarship and learning are enriched by the diversity of our campus community. Working with senior colleagues, they will take an institution-wide approach to ensuring the principles of equality, diversity, inclusion and inter-culturalism are embedded in all aspects of the University's strategy, policy, processes, systems and functions. The leadership and implementation of the University Gender Equality Action Plan is a priority. The role holder will be also be specifically responsible for the expansion and enhancement of our access and widening participation programmes to ensure the University is inclusive for all students.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the leadership and strategic vision required to make a significant contribution to Maynooth University coupled with a collaborative management style that will bring together multiple and diverse constituencies.
The Vice-President for Equality and Diversity will be a member of the University Executive and report directly to the President.
It is intended that this position will be for a five year fixed term.
Salary range: €114,740 - €144,186 per annum (6 points)
Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.
*New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the above scale.
