Industrial Funding Officer– Clean Growth UK

Fixed term to 31 March 2021 subject to external funding

The Faculty of Engineering & Technology seeks to appoint an Industry Funding Officer for the Clean Growth UK project within the Low Carbon Eco-Innovatory. 

Liverpool John Moores University has recently been awarded funding from Research England, Connecting Capability Fund to deliver a national green innovation network: Clean Growth UK.

Clean Growth UK will be a partnership with the University of Brighton, Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Portsmouth, and its mission will be to help businesses transform innovative ideas to tackle climate change into commercialised products and services.

We’ll be offering additional services developed for businesses via Clean Growth UK, including:

  • a national investor network
  • help with the steps needed to attract investors
  • the opportunity to work with corporate partners to develop and trial new products and services
  • guidance around commercialising innovations.

The Industry Funding Officer’s key role will be identifying funding opportunities and developing commercial partnerships for research and innovation, providing advice to academic/project staff in bid writing to support clean growth for businessesto create business-university collaborations that lead to long term relationships and successful and tangible outcomes across the project including LJMU, Universities of Brighton and Portsmouth.

Working closely with the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, the post holder will support CGUK to identify, develop and maintain a strong and highly productive relationship with suitable businesses and other agreed intermediary bodies. These relationships will both support the delivery of high quality research and bespoke solutions to various industrial sectors.

You will be required to support the activities of the wider team which may entail occasional evening and weekend working.
