The Faculty of Media and Communication at Bournemouth University is one of the largest of its kind in the world and has a global reputation for combining research and teaching practice. 

As a Lecturer (Academic) in Marketing Communication, you will be able to demonstrate a broad working knowledge of the fields of advertising, marketing and public relations, and an ability to teach across areas covering basic marketing communications, digital communication and more advanced material in the fields of creativity. Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to convey knowledge to students in an engaging manner, good communication skills appropriate for a range of different groups, good organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines, and an interest in pursuing skills development.

Applications are welcome from those with a professional and/or research background in any of the marketing communication disciplines.

You will be a team player who will primarily be involved with the teaching teams on BA (Hons) Marketing Communication and BSc (Hons) Marketing. Enthusiastic about student-centred pedagogy, you will contribute to education delivery, including programme management as required, across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will also make a significant contribution to employability, and professional engagement with relevant internal and external organisations, at a regional, national and international level.

You will be qualified to Doctorate level or be able to demonstrate the ability to create and disseminate knowledge at an equivalent level and the capability to convert this knowledge into a doctorate in a maximum of 3-5 years from the date of appointment. You will be research active and committed to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.

The post is available for a one-year fixed-term appointment to cover the secondments of established members of staff. Consideration may also be given to the post being offered as a secondment opportunity. 

Although this is a full time role available, applications for fractional appointments will also be considered.
