At the TU Dresden, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Institute of Communication Technology the Junior Professorship in Integrated Photonic Devices offers a position as

Research Associate

(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible, initially limited until 30.06.2019 with the possibility for prolongation (subject to further project funding). The period of employment is governed the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG).

Tasks: The project is part of the SFB project, Highly Adaptive Energy-Efficient Project. It deals with the design, simulation, and measurement of photonic devices for short-range optical communications. Other than the tasks specified in the project, close collaboration with other sub-projects is required. Presentation of the results and preparing the reports as well as on time designs are part of the responsibilities of the project.

Requirements: university degree in Electrical Engineering or information technology. Being familiar with MATLAB/Python and/or C/C++ programming languages is necessary. We are looking for a highly motivated, independent researcher with good teamwork ability. Basic knowledge in Optical communications, IC design, semiconductor technologies, and electromagnetic simulation is a plus.
