Zhejiang University (ZJU) is one of China’s top higher education institutions, as well as one of its oldest. Located in Hangzhou – one of China’s most picturesque cities – the University is organized across seven faculties and 36 schools. ZJU has over 53,000 students, over 53% of whom are postgraduate students. The University currently ranks among the top three on Chinese mainland and within the top 100 in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings and QS World University Rankings.  

The College of Media and International Culture at Zhejiang University was established in 2006. Its Department of Journalism, founded in 1958, is one of the earliest journalism education departments in China. According to the 2019 QS World University Ranking, the College is ranked among the top 150 globally and top 5 on Chinese mainland for Communication and Media Studies. The College seeks applicants for the following positions to begin Fall 2019.

1. Leading Professor of Humanities and Social Science

Responsibilities:

Candidates should have an international reputation, high energy, enthusiasm, and vision to build and lead faculty teams. Candidates should be able to teach courses for both undergraduates and graduates, maintain an active research agenda, produce world class research outputs, and acquire competitive external funding.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a PhD degree in above mentioned areas, hold a position of Associate Professor or higher rank, have a solid track record of research publications in reputable communication and/or other social science journals.

Remuneration:

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits package, including housing subsidy and start-up fund, will be offered.
