The team is at the forefront of our customers’ experience, and its capability, can-do attitude and problem solving are crucial to ensuring that our students receive an exceptional university experience. The ability to respond under pressure when faced with issues in a classroom at the start of a lecture is essential to the team’s success! You will be part of an ethos of excellent customer service in the team and be inspired by removing technical barriers that stop people being able to work effectively. You will be technically proficient in IT support and have excellent troubleshooting skills. You will be prepared to learn, as the role will involve exposure to a wide range of technologies and systems, therefore it is essential that you can grasp complex new technologies quickly. You will take pride in helping people resolve their issues and getting them working again, and you will be creative in finding ways to help people with this.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to staff, students and visitors to the University within a forward-thinking department and in a welcoming organisation that values its staff highly.
You will have:
- a good standard of numeracy and literacy.
- some experience of PC installation and troubleshooting Windows Operating Systems.
- basic knowledge of local area networking principles, both wired and wireless connections.
- some knowledge and experience of audio-visual equipment connectivity and operation is desirable.
- an enthusiastic and positive attitude to helping people.
