We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Energy whole system analysis to support a collaboration between the University of Lincoln and the Greater Lincolnshire Enterprise Partnership (GLLEP), looking to understand the local and regional energy supply and demand landscape in five separate areas of the region. The successful candidate will work alongside Professors Duncan Botting and Chris Bingham on a fixed term 2-year project.

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be required to collect, analyse and provide insights to be able to communicate the infrastructure needs as a whole system to enable the delivery of inward investment, Net-Zero ambitions and create jobs and place-based solutions to local energy challenges. These approaches will require collaboration with the GLLEP, the LCC, National Grid, DNOs/DSOs, and other non-regulated monopolies and key stakeholders contributing data and access for the research aims to be achieved. The Post-Doctoral Research Associate will be involved in all aspects of the research and supporting preparation of reports, conference abstracts, presentations, and journal papers.

The successful candidate will be qualified to PhD level in a relevant subject (or with demonstrably equivalent knowledge and expertise) with experience of relevant research methods. An understanding of whole system interfaces and interactions across multiple vectors, sectors and infrastructures is essential.  A detailed knowledge of renewable energy technologies, fuels, networks, built environment and understand their relative merits for supporting future transport, industry, agriculture, town/city housing development is required alongside an ability to develop energy roadmaps for various sub-regions in Lincolnshire
