Based within the HR Services Team, the Senior UKVI Compliance Officer will play a crucial role in enabling the university to deliver full compliance with UKVI regulations and ensuring all staff have permission to work in the UK.

This new post will take the lead in shaping the UKVI provision within HR and will have line management responsibility for the UKVI Compliance Officer. You will need to forge a close working relationship with the Student Visa Compliance team and ensure that a joined-up approach is taken when employing student staff at the university.

You will take a lead in all UKVI reporting, the sponsorship process for successful candidates to obtain their visa, the visa extension process for existing employees, overseeing regular audits, maintaining records and ensuring compliance at all times.

You will be responsible for implementing and embedding the necessary changes to policy and process as per the introduction of the Points Based system from January 2021. This role will need to manage the transition from the existing Tier 2 system and ensure compliance is maintained across both schemes. You will be expected to roll out updates and develop training for staff across the university.

This is an opportunity to develop skills in data analysis, risk management, and regulatory compliance, driving change and developing the role in a customer-friendly, pro-active manner.

Due to the nature of this role, and the fact that it will require Home Office clearance to access the UKVI Sponsor Management System, we are unfortunately unable to consider any applicant who will require a Certificate of Sponsorship under Tier 2 of the Points Based Immigration System. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
