Post-Doctoral Research Assistant in Predictive Toxicology and In Silico Chemical Safety Assessment – 12 months fixed term in the first instance.

A twelve month fixed term post-doctoral assistant position (with possibility of extension up t0 24 months) is available in the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences. The position will involve the development and assessment of computer-based models to predict toxicity. The models may be used to aid overall risk assessment of these compounds and will include the use of chemical grouping and read-across approaches, (Quantitative) Structure-Activity Relationships (Q)SARs, as well as general modelling of chemistry and toxicology. Candidates should have, or be expecting soon to obtain, a Ph.D. with a strong background in any chemoinformatic, chemical, biochemical, toxicological or computational science, or a related field.

Liverpool John Moores University is internationally recognised for its work in in silico toxicology. The successful applicant will be expected to integrate with other research being undertaken in this and related areas.
