About HKBU

Hong Kong Baptist College was founded in 1956 as a post-secondary college committed to the provision of whole person education. It was renamed Hong Kong Baptist University in 1994, and is now one of the only eight government-funded universities in Hong Kong.

The six Faculties/Schools and the Academy of Visual Arts offer a range of undergraduate programmes, taught and research postgraduate programmes leading to the award of master and doctoral degrees, as well as associate degree and higher diploma programmes.

In November 2017, HKBU announced its 10-year Institutional Strategic Plan with a refreshed vision:

To be a leading liberal arts university in Asia for the world delivering academic excellence in a caring, creative and global culture.

With a renewed sense of purpose, HKBU is working earnestly towards its aspiration and seeking to enhance the opportunities of its graduates, improve people’s lives and advance knowledge, scholarship and academic leadership fit for the development of Hong Kong and the world. Join the University at this truly exciting time in looking ahead to the future with optimism.
