The School of Agriculture and Food Sciences

The School of Agriculture and Food Sciences is one of the largest agricultural schools in Australia, comprising research and teaching experts in agribusiness, animals and wildlife, environment, plants and soil, and food and nutrition. The Role

PhD scholarship is available within the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences in dairy science area. The successful applicant will join a research program developing a fundamental understanding of milk foaming such that foaming of liquid milk can be controlled. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain experience in dairy processing and technology, and work in an interdisciplinary team that includes food academics, PostDocs and PhD scholars.

The Person

The candidate will have a 1st Class Honours /Masters (with 25% research component) degree or equivalent in Food Science/ Technology. Undergraduate training in food technology is essential. Additional background experience in dairy chemistry while not essential would be advantageous.

  1. Applicants must hold, or be awarded by 30 June 2017, a 1stClass Honours degree or Masters Degree (or equivalent) in Food Science/ Technology.

The stipend is equivalent to the APA rate, $26,682 per annum, (2017 rate, indexed annually). The scholarship will be for three (3) years with the possibility of a six (6)-month extension and is subject to the UQ Research Scholarship General Conditions.
