Working within the Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Strategy, you will join a team of highly qualified academics with a passion for enhancing the student experience. As a senior Academic colleague, you will assist the Faculty Pro Vice-Chancellor to maintain, enhance and improve the University’s national and international reputation in your academic field. You must demonstrate continuing academic attainment and achievement and provide academic leadership (of your subject and associated colleagues), through active contribution to your discipline and to the life and work of the Faculty and the wider University. This will include contributing to significant change within practice, the discipline, profession and/or community at regional, national and international level.

Appointment to Associate Professor requires, by definition, evidence of outstanding achievement and ability, as appropriate, in teaching and research; namely:

Evidence of a growing record of quality research outputs which are nationally (emerging internationally) excellent in terms of originality, significance and rigour coupled with a good record of teaching; and appropriate evidence of business engagement, knowledge transfer and leadership and management

or

Evidence of innovative and creative contributions to teaching which are recognised nationally (emerging internationally) as excellent in terms of enhancing quality and learning, coupled with a good record of research and scholarship; and appropriate evidence of business engagement, knowledge transfer and leadership and management

We encourage applications from colleagues with practitioner experience and an interest in experiential and design-led approaches to entrepreneurship. We would particularly welcome applicants with supplementary expertise in any of the following: gender, the context of the Global South, technological transformation, or business history. You should also demonstrate academic leadership experience and strong standing with external bodies and networks in your field.

In addition to our already running London Campus, Northumbria University has launched our new campus in the heart of the European Union in the city of Amsterdam with the first students enrolled from September 2018. This provides an exciting opportunity for research and teaching activities and the successful candidate may be asked to become involved in teaching at any of our campuses or one of our other international partners.
