Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Full Professor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is now seeking exceptional scholars to join us as Assistant Professors / Associate Professors / Professors in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

About the School/Department

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. It is a world-class, research-inspired department that excels in both teaching and research.

The Department's academic programme has been internationally accredited by the UK based Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). It covers a broad technical spectrum and allows students to study a variety of topics, including electronic design, communications, software engineering, computer modelling, microelectronics, power generation and distribution, electrical machines, signal processing, renewable energy systems, and instrumentation. We adopt the project-based learning approach in all of our teaching modules.

In terms of research, we have a wealth of research and industrial experience in power electronics, machine and controls, with many of our academics involved in the Provincial Key Laboratory of More Electric Aircraft. We also have experience in Internet of Things (IoT), 5G, embedded systems, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and healthcare devices.

About You

We are looking for proactive and mature academics who are self-driven and results-oriented, adaptable and creative, and who make internationally recognised intellectual contributions in their respective research fields. You should have a recognised education to relevant standards and teaching experience, particularly in key technologies related to your respective field; experience in industry would be preferred.

You will be responsible for creating new intellectual understanding/knowledge through the application of knowledge and developing ideas for the application of research and teaching results. This will include developing new concepts and ideas. Where appropriate, you will be expected to develop and gain support for innovative research and/or teaching development and funding proposals.

You will also be expected to make significant contributions to your academic unit through leadership and/or administrative management and/or coordination of specific initiatives. You should have strong analytical skills and experience in setting and implementing a strategic vision.

Successful candidate will be offered a five-year contract that may be extended by mutual agreement.
