Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Physics (Ref: 511299) to commence as soon as possible for one or two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Research experience in linear/nonlinear photonic/plasmonic experiments and/or fiber optics are welcome. The appointee will be expected to conduct research in theoretical and/or experimental photonics with Dr. Yi Yang, an incoming Assistant Professor of the Department who will start in 2022 spring/summer. Dr. Yang’s research ranges widely in photonics, with a particular emphasis on topological nanophotonics, free electron optics, and nanophotonics at extreme length scales (including 2D and 3D materials). A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
