Applications are invited for an enthusiastic Research Technician to join our multidisciplinary group investigating the role of epigenetic processes in human disease and muscle ageing. This is a part time position, to support the general research activities of the EpiGen research group within the Faculty of Medicine. The successful applicant will be based within the Institute of Developmental Sciences Building at University Hospital Southampton. It is anticipated that the post will be taken up in March 2022 and will be in the first instance available for 12 months.

You must have a skill level equivalent to achievement of HNC, A-Level, NVQ3 with proven work experience acquired in relevant technical support roles and job-related training.   Experience and understanding of molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, RT-PCR and cell culture is also essential.  The ideal candidate will also have experience working within a team, training others, and have comprehensive experience and understanding of laboratory health and safety requirements, including preparation of standard operating procedures and risk assessments.
