Job description

The School of Psychology at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking a Research Fellow to join our productive team in the field of psychological trauma and mental health.

The successful candidate will be based at the Research Centre for Stress Trauma and Related Conditions (STARC) and will join researchers who are conducting ecological momentary assessment research on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

This role offers a unique opportunity for someone to join a productive team and quickly produce outputs in leading psychology and psychiatry journals to enhance their CV.

    
You will also have the opportunity to lead on secondary data analysis of existing datasets including the NI Veterans Health and Wellbeing Study, the COVID19 Psychological Wellbeing Study, or a dataset of ex-prisoners assessing maladaptive cognitive schemas and wellbeing.      

This post is available on a fixed term contract for 3 months.

The successful candidate must have and your CV/Cover letter should clearly demonstrate you have:

  • Honours Degree in Psychology or related discipline.
  • A PhD in Psychology, Epidemiology, Statistics, or related discipline (of relevance to stress, trauma and/or mental health) in progress or completed.
  • Understanding of secondary data analysis processes and/or the collection of ecological momentary assessment data.
  • Experience of working with quantitative survey data (for example, large scale surveys, or ecological momentary assessment data).
  • Experience of using the statistical packages of SPSS and/or MPlus, and/or R.
  • A peer reviewed publication record commensurate with career stage.

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be
renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
