Overview

The Student Transitions and Employability team has a pivotal role in coordinating and implementing initiatives that engage students in their studies and university life and preparing them for employment. This team has responsibility for planning and implementing evidence based and benchmarked activities including careers and employability preparation, and transition activities. Collaboration across all University student service points is a major requirement, as is the implementation of a seamless student experience strategy alongside excellent customer service standards.

The Role

The Career Advisers are responsible for providing comprehensive careers and employability advice to current students and recent graduates in a dynamic and engaging manner. They collaborate with ECU academic staff to embed career development learning in the curriculum, and deliver events to build career awareness, job search skills and employment readiness. We are seeking an optimistic and enthusiastic professional who can offer extensive knowledge of the labour market and industry trends. They would be a skilled team player who is committed to developing the career aspirations of ECU students and building their confidence.

Key Criteria

The successful applicant will have experience in:

  • Delivering specialist career and transition advice and support for students and staff in relation to student careers, employability and transitions;
  • Developing and delivering a range of diverse school-based events aimed at providing assistance and support to students in relation to career awareness, job search skills, and employment opportunities;
  • Developing a variety of high quality online and offline career development learning resources for use within the curriculum;
  • Establishing and building relationships with internal and external parties regarding employment opportunities for students; and
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated experience in providing support for students to achieve academic and employment outcomes.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.

These ongoing positions attract a salary of $90,220 - $101,090 pa pro rata plus 17% university superannuation contribution.
