Applications are sought for Ad Astra Fellows within the UCD School of Architecture, Planning & Environmental Policy. In support of the 2024 University College Dublin Strategic Plan 'Rising to the Future', UCD continues its ambitious plan to increase our faculty numbers by 500 over five years.

With an initial 5-year contract, research support for these 5 years and the opportunity for an on-going contract subject to performance, there has never been a better time to join the faculty at Ireland's Global University and to live in one of Europe's most vibrant, friendly and connected capital cities. The School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy has an international reputation as a centre of excellence for research and teaching in a multidisciplinary School ranked in the QS top 150. UCD Architecture is the longest established architecture programme in Ireland and the only research-intensive architecture school in the country.

UCD is at the forefront of Landscape Architecture education in Ireland and the School offers the only landscape architecture programme in Ireland. The School also has the only Environmental Policy specialism in Ireland, which has led to significant national and European success in attracting substantial research funds and international leadership and policy impact. UCD Planning is the longest established planning school in Ireland and a renowned centre of excellence and contributor to the European and global educational and research agenda. All four subject areas offer professionally accredited undergraduate and graduate programmes within a research-informed learning environment.

The School supports a positive research culture for its faculty and researchers through a collaborative and creative research environment that includes the UCD Centre for Spatial Dynamics and the UCD Centre for Irish Towns. The School faculty, having established reputations for both design excellence and the transfer of research to policy impact, maintain an international profile. All subject areas are physically located in the UCD Richview/Newstead precinct. The School is part of the College of Engineering and Architecture which was awarded an Athena SWAN bronze award in 2019 for its shared commitment to ensuring that their faculty, staff and students experience an equal, diverse and inclusive environment. Salary Scale: €55,397 - €87,724 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
